Emerging Asia Cup – Pak A vs. India A Final match of 2023 highlights

The final of the Emerging Asia Cup was held between the Pakistan A Cricket team and the Indian A cricket team on 23rd July 2023 in Colombo Sri Lanka.

India won the toss and chose to bowl first, Pakistan set a massive target of 352 runs, and Pakistani openers Saim Ayub (59 off 51 balls) and Sahibzada Farhan (65 off 62 balls) gave their team a competitive start. However, Tayyab Tahir’s aggressive knock of 108 off 71 balls helped Pakistan post a massive total of 352 in their 50 overs. 

While chasing Indians started with an aggressive approach and with a good run rate, Sai Sudharsan and Abhishek Sharma posted an opening stand of 64 runs, but other players were unable to stay long on the crease and they kept losing wickets and they were all out on 224 in 40th over. Pakistan wins the final with a heavy margin of 128 runs

Below are the Indian team Captain’s remarks after the loss:

“They batted very well, We controlled it well in the middle, but they batted well. It was a big target but we played some poor shots. The decision was okay, but they batted well and the wicket was also fresh. We played some bad shots [at three wickets down] and went down from there. None of us have played international cricket so it was a good platform for us to play and a good environment,” he said.
