Asia Cup 2023: Bangladesh last over thrilling win against India in Super four match
Bangladesh batted first and scored 265 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs in Super four match of Asia Cup 2023 against India. Shakib Al Hasan top-scored with 80 runs, while Towhid Hridoy scored a valuable 54. Mehidy Hasan Miraz also played a good innings of 44 runs.
India won the toss and elected to field first. They got off to a good start, dismissing Liton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto in the early overs. However, Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy put on a 100-run partnership for the third wicket to revive the Bangladesh innings.
Shakib Al Hasan was dismissed for 80 in the 25th over, but Hridoy continued to bat well and reached his half-century in the 30th over. He was eventually dismissed for 54 in the 40th over.
Bangladesh were struggling at 213-7 in the 45th over, but Mehidy Hasan Miraz put on a 47-run stand with Mustafizur Rahaman for the eighth wicket to help Bangladesh to reach a respectable total of 265 runs.
India’s bowlers were not up to the mark on the day. Only Hardik Pandya (2/48) and Yuzvendra Chahal (2/45) picked up two wickets each.
Bangladesh’s first innings total of 265 runs is a very competitive score. India will need to bat well if they want to chase it down.

India did not start well as their Captain Rohit Sharma was out on a duck, only Shubman Gill and Axer Patel batted well. Gill made his 121 runs and gives India a hope. But Indian side kept loosing wickets and they were all out on 259 runs in the last over.
Only 11 runs were required in the last over with the last partnership, Shami tried to hit but did not connect the ball, finally he run out on the fourth ball of the last over.
